My clients always ask me, how to keep visitors on website? They want that user spend more time on their website browsing their site content.I am in web designing business for last 3 years. Ever since apart from designing sites for clients and making them Search engine optimized, i always try to explore ways to increase user’s site browsing time. The answer i was able to find out are below and which are some what universal:
- Content: First thing to be consider is focus on your content. Its only the content of the site which keep your users busy and increase your user’s site browsing time.
- Related Post: Provide users more related posts on the topic he or she is reading now. If i am reading something interesting and after finishing it, if i found more stuff about that topic i will definitely go and click that. In wordpress there is inbuilt plugin to create related post. Also you can install plugins for related posts.
- Popular Post: Other then related post provide your users option for reading some more famous articles on your blog. You can provide link list of the popular articles in your website. in WordPress you can find plugins for almost every thing and for popular post you have lots of plugins at wordpress.org
- Navigation: Make your site navigation simple and relevant to the topic. Link each post or pages to the related post and pages. So that if i am reading something about how to create new post in wordpress, then i must put link of my another post or page about Video tutorial about making post/page more search engine optimized.
